In this video, the most essential tips to get a high score in the IELTS academic writing task 1( Report writing)  are discussed. Follow these tips and get your desired score!

The IELTS writing test is separated in to the academic version and the general training version.  There are two tasks in the test. 
1. Task 1 - The task 1 in the academic writing test is a report. 
2. Task 2 - Here, an essay has to be written. 

What is a report? 
A report is a brief summary of an infograph.  You should base your report on the visual data that you see.  You need to 
A.  Identify the kind of graph or the table 
B.  Interpret the data by highlighting the main points 
C.  Summarize the data.

There are various kinds of graphs/ charts that are given in the test.  Make sure that you practice all of them. 
A. Bar chart 
B. Pie chart 
C. Line graph 
D. Table
E. Process / flow chart 
F. Diagram 
G. Life cycle 
H. Combinations

Sometimes,  you may get two or more graphs. All of them need to be interpreted while writing the report. This is called a combination. If you follow a proper structure and use the right vocabulary to describe the various trends that you, then it is quite simple and easy to finish this task.  Note that there are four band descriptors which would be the criteria for marking.
1. Task achievement 
2. Coherence and cohesion 
3. Lexical resource 
4. Grammatical range and accuracy
