The IELTS writing section basically consists of two tasks, of which, the second task is to write an essay. You need to write a minimum of 250 words. However, there is no upper limit. In this video, we are going to learn how you can write a perfect structure for the essay question type WHAT ARE THE CAUSES AND EFFECTS? You should learn to identify the type of question by reading it very carefully and then, follow the steps below.
1. Remember that the question prompt says CAUSES. Hence, we need to write about at least two causes.
2. Similarly, the question says SOLUTIONS/EFFECTS. So, write at least two solutions.
3. While doing so, use the appropriate LINKERS /TRANSITION WORDS/ COHESIVE DEVICES. These words or phrases are used to join two ideas and two sentences together.
4. Follow a sequential step by step method to write the body paragraphs.
5. Every body paragraph must contain
a. Topic sentence, which introduces the main theme of the body paragraph
b. Supporting evidence, which aids weight and support to the sentence given in the topic statement.
c. Survey/an experience to exemplify your opinion or your point.
d.Internal conclusion, which summarizes the points written.
